Perry & Ruben

Q: How long have you been a Big Brother?
A: Almost a year and half.

Q: What is the best part about being a Big?
A: Knowing that I make a difference in Ruben's life by giving him something to look forward to: our getting together.

Q: What are the favorite activities you like to do with your Little?
A: Fishing and football games in the yard.

Q: Why should someone consider becoming a Big Brother or Sister?
A: There are a lot of children out there that could benefit for some companionship and friendship. The experience is rewarding not only for the children but the mentor as well.

Q: What is your favorite experience or outing with your little?
A: The first few months of our relationship - watching it develop. Ruben wasn't sure what to expect initially and was a bit stand off-ish. It took about 3-4 months to develop that level of trust - before he realized that I was there just to be his friend. I'm not there to be his father just a good role model and buddy.
