A Grand Opening To Remember
On the afternoon of Thursday, October 6, Big Brothers Big Sisters officially opened their doors to their new home. Moving from a 5,000 square foot building near downtown San Antonio, the agency now inhabits the 15,000 square foot Harvey E. Najim South Texas Mentoring Resource Center, located centrally between US Hwy 281 and the San Antonio Airport.
The move was the successful culmination of a $5,000,000 Capital Campaign which began in earnest in 2014. The success of the campaign was a direct result of generous and significant support from some of San Antonio's most prominent philanthropists, including Harvey E. Najim, Bill Greehey and the Kronkosky Foundation. The added square footage will allow Big Brothers Big Sisters to tremendously increase the number of children served in San Antonio and beyond, brining a life-changing mentor to thousands of kids who need one.
The grand opening festivities drew a great crowd, ranging from current and former Board members, elected officials, donors, Littles and volunteer Bigs. Please click here to view some of the photos from the event.
