Day of the Volunteer

If you live in San Antonio or Bexar County, you don’t want to miss Day of the Volunteer on April 15th from 12-4 pm at the Alamo Beer Company. This event is an opportunity for the community to come together and learn about volunteer opportunities with 40-50 nonprofits that will have booths showcasing their programs and missions.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, a time when we celebrate the millions of individuals who generously donate their time and skills to support causes they care about. It’s a time to recognize the power of volunteerism and how it can transform lives, communities, and the world.

However, the pandemic has had a significant impact on volunteerism. According to a recent report, volunteerism rates dropped to a 16-year low in 2020, as social distancing and lock downs made it challenging for people to engage in traditional volunteering activities. Nonprofits that rely on volunteers have also been struggling to meet their missions, leaving many individuals and communities in need.

That’s why we believe it’s more important than ever to come together and support the many nonprofits in our community that are doing essential work. The Day of the Volunteer event provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the many ways you can make a positive impact on causes that matter to you.

By attending the event, you’ll have the chance to speak with representatives from a wide range of organizations, learn about their missions and programs, and find volunteer opportunities that align with your interests and skills. Whether you’re passionate about education, the environment, social justice, or health and wellness, there is sure to be a nonprofit that can benefit from your help.

So, mark your calendars for April 15th and join us for a day of community, learning, and giving back. Together, we can help make a meaningful difference in our community.
