Big Brothers Big Sisters is excited to announce our special 2019 fundraiser. We are raffling off two tickets to see the exclusive, sold-out “HAMILTON” musical at The Majestic Theatre on May 10, 2019.
This fundraiser isn’t just about getting theatre-lovers to support our nonprofit – there is so much more than that!
Make Your Mark
Alexander Hamilton — the inspiration behind Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical “Hamilton” – was an immigrant who struggled early in life. At a young age, Hamilton was left parentless, with no support and guidance to help him succeed. Thanks to Hamilton’s mentors including George Washington, he rose to become a successful lawyer, a military hero, advisor to Washington and founding father of our great nation.
Alexander Hamilton’s childhood hardships are similar to those of the children we serve throughout our organization. Our children face adversity and life obstacles that most people may not experience. Statistically, the kids in our program are destined to fall into a life of crime, poverty, and drugs unless they have someone or something to change their life trajectory.
At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we believe that each child has the potential to become the next “great”, just like Hamilton. They just need the right guidance, support, and opportunity to reach their aspirational and educational goals.
