

The purpose of the Military Mentoring Advisory Council (MMAC) is to extend the agency’s reach into the military community in order to promote awareness of the volunteer opportunities and services to youth.
The only criteria for memberships is a connection to the military. BBBS welcomes all active duty, veteran, Reserve or Guard, dependent, retiree, ROTC or Civilian members.
Some of MMAC’s Activities:
- Promote awareness of the BBBS mission, services and outcomes to the military community
- Recruit military Bigs and Littles
- Share stories about the BBBS experience with military individuals and entities
- provide advice, guidance and perspective to the BBBS Board and staff on military matters
- Identify recruitment booth
- Man a recruitment booth
- Participate/host in agency match activities
- Speak on behalf of the agency
- Host a table or bring a friend to a Little Moments, Big Magic Luncheon
- Call, write or visit with elected officials
- Participate in Bowl For Kids’ Sake or other fundraising events
- Attend/host an agency mixer
- Participate in other external events such as press conferences
- Promote Operation Big Mentor Recruitment Campaign
